The Burns Harbor
Town Council
held its public
hearing for the
2011 Budget on
September 21,
2010. The
Porter County
Council gave the
Town’s Budget a
favorable
non-binding
recommendation
at its October
4, 2010
meeting. At its
October 13, 2010
meeting, the
Burns Harbor
Town Council
approved its
2011 Budget by a
4 - 0 vote. On
November 30th
prior to
reviewing the
budgets and
setting tax
rates and
levies, the
Department of
Local Government
Finance (DLGF)
held a public
hearing for all
Porter County
budgets at the
Porter County
Administration
Building. The
Town’s Budget
received no
public comments
or questions.
The DLGF
approved the
2011 Budget and
set final tax
rates in
February 2011.
The 2010 Budget
was presented by
the Burns Harbor
Town Council for
public hearing
on September 9,
2009. The 2010
budget was
approved by the
Town Council by
a 3 - 0 vote on
October 14,
2009. Following
the October
meeting, the
budget was
submitted to the
Department of
Local Government
Finance (DLGF)
for final
approval and the
setting of tax
rates. The DLGF
approved the
2010 Budget and
set final tax
rates in
February 2010.
